Dave Tanner – Owner / Operator

After 12 years in the commercial vehicle industry, and a short career in the military as a reservist, Dave Tanner’s personal life took a major turn when his wife was diagnosed with cancer. Her passing proved to be the biggest mountain he and his family ever had to climb. Working for someone else on their schedule and travelling for business no longer fit with his home life. That’s what led Dave to look into owning his own business.

Originally from London, and now a permanent resident here, Dave saw Premier as an opportunity that would fit his altered lifestyle and allow him to start a new chapter with his family. He looked into purchasing the Premier Homecare Services London franchise, and it really has been a great decision.

A personal approach is something Dave and his caregivers strive to provide every day. It starts when someone expresses an interest in the service.

“I come into their home and ask some important questions to help me understand how we can customize care to meet and exceed their expectations. If family is involved with the care, we invite them to attend the assessment to ensure everyone is comfortable and well-informed. I find out about what they like and dislike so we can make a good caregiver match, a man or woman, older or younger. We make sure it’s a good fit”, he says.

Once that match is made, the same caregiver comes on a regular schedule, in order to maintain consistency. When a caregiver is sick or unavailable, that’s when Dave can count on one of his other caregivers to fill in as needed.

“There is always someone here to help,” he says. “People come to rely on us, and we consider that a real privilege. I look forward to continuing to serve the region with the quality home care that clients have come to expect from Premier Homecare Services.”

Premier is here to provide any non-medical help, including personal care, transportation, shopping, light housework or meal preparation. The service is flexible and driven by the client’s needs and requests. Fees are hourly.

“I’m confident my team will be able to build on the solid foundation already in place”, he says.

This is followed up by great corporate support as well.

Today, Dave is a member of the Board of Directors for Wellspring London which is a cancer support centre. He is also active in the Royal Canadian Legion and has been involved with the Salvation Army Christmas Kettle campaign and Out of the Cold suppers at Wesley Knox United Church.

Meagan McGregor – Director of Operations

Meagan is no stranger to helping people. Having spent 15 years working in the fitness industry, it was the perfect time for a change of career. As a wife and a mother of 2 boys life was getting busy. After school activities were taking up more time and working 9-5 just didn’t seem to fit her lifestyle anymore.

In November 2016, Dave bought the Premier Homecare Services business and shortly thereafter presented the idea of business partner to Meagan. After some consideration Meagan and her family decided that this would be a great fit, not only for her family but also for Dave’s family. Not only is Meagan Dave’s business partner she is also Dave’s sister.

Meagan enjoys the parallels she shares while working with Dave in terms of having the same vision, personality traits and determination necessary when helping others. While their strengths and skills do differ they enjoy using their abilities to the fullest in order to provide the best homecare services possible. Overall, Meagan enjoys being a business owner and working with Dave. Premier Homecare Services is the ideal situation for her to continue helping people in her career.
